Cape Town protesters block roads with burning tyres

Protesters blocked the R300 in Cape Town with burning tyres on Friday morning.

Richard Coleman, traffic service spokesperson for the city, said the road was closed in both directions between the N2 and Jakes Gerwel Drive.

Motorists could also not access the N2 from Stock Road.

However, Coleman said all roads had since been reopened.

The protest was allegedly due to service delivery in the area.
