Wales scrumhalf Mike Phillips has signed a two-year deal with French top-flight side Bayonne, the club said in a statement on Monday.

The 28-year-old, set to play for Wales in September and October’s World Cup in New Zealand, has moved from Celtic League side Ospreys.

Phillips is the latest in a string of top northern and southern hemisphere players to sign for cash-rich French clubs.
