It is a global environment initiative by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Participants must be aged between 18 and 24 years with active involvement in environmental projects. Entrants are required to submit a summary of the projects - describing how the project has or is addressing environment challenges including sustainable agriculture; water conservation; litter and waste management; energy efficiency and climate change. GRADE 12 pupils gearing up for their matric exams can now access the Learning Channel on Saffron TV channel 456. The channel will launch tomorrow and will be screened every weekday from 3.30pm. The five subjects to be covered are accounting (Monday), English (Tuesday), life science (Wednesday), maths (Thursday) and physical science (Friday).

GET into the swing of spring with Nataniël in Joburg this month. The popular entertainer has just released his latest album, OH. He will be at the Linder Auditorium, Johannesburg University College of Education, Parktown, on August 28. The concert will feature music from the new album as well as a collection of his most popular songs. New arrangements of a few well-known covers form part of the mix. HILARIOUS comedian Sans Moonsamy will stage his one-man show Karma Komedian for Johannesburg audiences. Moonsamy's show aims to get rid of any World Cup hangovers. It will celebrate the country's cultural diversity as he combines stand-up comedy on Indian lives. Catch Karma Komedian in the Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace, from August 20 to 22. FOR a fabled story about an instrument that changed the world, catch The Guitar that Rocked the World in Durban. The show celebrates the history of a guitar that changed the face of rock music when it was championed by musical legends such as Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Beatles and a host of others. Directed by Themi Venturas, the musical scooped a Vita Award for best musical when it played to sold-out houses in two successive Durban seasons. The show runs in the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre until August 29. Tickets are available at Computicket at R140. There are discounted tickets for pensioners, students and pupils.

He will also host a question-and-answer session when the audience will be able to satisfy their curiosity about his talents and psychic ability. IF you still have "gees" left over from the 2010 Fifa World Cup, then make sure you bring it along later this month to the Moksha Cup. The event, hosted by the Andhra Youth Movement, aims to recognise the contribution made by Indians to soccer in celebrating 150 years of Indians being in the country. The soccer event was started in 2006 with the intention of fostering cultural unity among Hindus. The Moksha Cup takes place at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Sport Centre, Westville campus, on August 29. CHILDREN will have a blast with a new fun comedy out in cinemas titled Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The story revolves around Greg, a wise-cracking 12-year-old whose aim is to become "cool". On the brink of starting middle school, Greg is convinced he will love school and become a popular pupil. However, he learns things are not the way he thought they would be. So Greg devises plans in his journal to put himself into positions of power. But each of his attempt backfires, making him more of an outcast. Based on a series of books by Jeff Kinney, it stars Zachary Gordon and Steve Zahn.
