With no big releases on circuit last week, we looked at the more eagerly awaited titles for 2013.

AURANGZEB

ARJUN Kapoor has bagged a double role in this Yash Raj Pictures production - inspired by the classic Trishul - that marks the debut of Sashaa Agha, the daughter of talented Pakistani singer Salma Agha. The supporting cast includes Jackie Shroff, Rishi Kapoor, Sikander Kher and Amrita Singh.

SATYAGRAHA

HIGHLY acclaimed producer Prakash Jha - known for socially powerful flicks like Rajneeti, Aarakshan and Chakravuyh - is back with a multistarrer that has Amitabh Bachchan preaching the Gandhi philosophies, Ajay Devgn as a politician, and Kareena Kapoor playing the role of a journalist.

PK

COULD this be the biggest release of the year? Well, the last time Raj Kumar Hirani directed Aamir Khan was in 3 Idiots, Bollywood's biggest money spinner to date. PK will star Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput, and is due for release over the Christmas weekend.

RAM LEELA

THE masterful Sanjay Leela Bhansali of Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Guzaarish fame is back for an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet titled Ram Leela. The intense romance will feature Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Kareena Kapoor walked out of the project due to money issues and date hassles.

PHATA POSTER NIKHLA HERO

SHAHID Kapoor is giving his career a serious makeover. The chocolate boy has agreed to do Rajkumar Santoshi's Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, due for release in August. Kapoor is paired opposite Illeana D'Cruz of Barfi fame.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAVING settled their differences, Shahrukh Khan is set to work with his ace filmmaker friend Farah Khan for this romantic comedy. Although the female lead has yet to be confirmed, there are rumours that Abhishek Bachchan and Sidharth Malhotra have bagged the supporting roles.

KICK

SALMAN Khan fans will be delighted to learn that he has given the nod of approval to the action-comedy Kick - a remake of the Telugu blockbuster of the same title - to be produced by Sajid Nadiawala. Khan will star alongside Deepika Padukone for the first time. Randeep Hooda has landed a supporting role.

SHOOTOUT AT WADALA

A RIVETING crime thriller made by the brilliant Sanjay Gupta of Kaante and Musafir fame, coproduced by Ekta Kapoor. It brings together an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpai, Sonu Sood and Tusshar Kapoor. The gangster flick, inspired by a police encounter, will be released on May 1.

BESHARAM

THIS title is to be made by the original Dabangg director Abhinav Kashyap. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as a con artist, his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh as the police inspectors hot on his trail, and former Miss India Australia Pallavi Sharda, who had a supporting role in My Name is Khan. Besharam will be released in October.
