Four police officers accused of allegedly executing a fleeing robber in Krugersdorp two weeks ago are expected to appear in the Krugersdorp magistrate's court later today.
The four, who handed themselves in following a Sunday Times expose last weekend, will face a charge of murder following the killing of Khulekani Mpanza.
Mpanza allegedly planned to rob a store in Krugersdorp, and fired eight shots at police who were in the vicinity after receiving a tip off. The subsequent shooting was caught on CCTV camera.
In the footage, Mpanza is seen falling to the ground after being shot in the arm. His firearm out of reach, one of the officers is then seen firing two more shots at the suspect.
Mpanza died on the scene.
