'ANC using scare tactics to quash criticism', says ANC veteran Sydney Mufamadi

ANC veteran Sydney Mufamadi launched a scathing attack against current ANC leaders, saying they were so captured they had become "spineless and moribund".
In a prepared speech for a three-day consultative conference convened by ANC stalwarts and veterans, Mufamadi, a former cabinet minister, yesterday blamed problems facing the party on its leaders.
"Those in the know say that if you want to deal a mortal blow to an organisation, you must attack its head.
"It must be equally true that if you want to capture an organisation, you must put its head in your pocket," he noted...
