‘Slumdog Millionaire’ muso brings Indian music to SA

Composer A.R. Rahman will be in South Africa for his Jai Ho: The Journey Home Tour concert later this year.

Rahman is best known for his work on the score for the film; "Slumdog Millionaire." He also has been praised as the man who redefined contemporary Indian music



"I think the tour represents a connection of good things, of the love from people all over the world, of the musical developments," Rahman is quoted as saying.



The tour in kicks off at the Sun City Superbowl on 20 November, he will then head down to the mother city for a performance at the Grand Arena at GrandWest on the 24th.



The music spectacle will move to the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on 26 November 2010.



For his work on the film, Rahman earned two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe, two Grammys and a BAFTA award.
