Tickets for US singer-pianist Tori Amos' South African Night of Hunters tour have sold out.

The multiplatinum-selling musician will be in Johannesburg and Cape Town in November- and Joburg tickets sold out just three hours after going on sale on Sunday morning.

Organisers said in a statement that an extra date - 14 November in Joburg - has been added to the tour. More tickets have also been added for the 12 and 13 November shows, also in Johannesburg.

Amos fans who will be in Cape Town should get moving quickly as those tickets are selling out fast as well, say organisers.

Amos released her debut album, Little Earthquakes, in 1992 and has since had hits such as Cornflake Girl, Past the Mission and Professional Widow. She released an album of covers, Strange Little Girls, in 2001, where she took on tracks by Eminem, Slayer and the Beatles, amongst other artists.

Her twelfth album, Night of Hunters, will be released this month.

Tickets are available at Computicket and pricing starts at R390.
