The family of kwaito star Mandoza have said that they are ready to host his memorial today, which is set to kick off at midday at the Ellis Park Arena, with friends and family gathering at his family home in Soweto ahead of proceedings.

Speaking to ANN7, Mandoza's uncle said that everyone is doing well and there has been lots of co-operation between the families.

"We've accepted it as a family. We are united. There's sadness. What is in front of us, that is what we are concentrating on," said Mzwakhe Tshabalala.

Meanwhile, fans have started filling up the stadium as they bid goodbye to the musician.

The memorial is expected to go on until 4pm.

Mandoza died on Sunday after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
