After Mabala Noise went on a recruitment spree and signed almost everyone in the music industry in July, fans have been wondering who the record label would snap up next.

It's become a bit of a game for fans and social media detectives as they thought they had cracked the case recently when they spotted singer Naima Kay sporting a Mabala Noise jacket .

But it turns out that Naima is not on her way to Mabala- she was simply wearing a gift from a friend.

"The jacket was a gift from a friend who works for the label. I’m still with Touch Africa (my record label) and I have recorded my third album, which will be on the shelves by the end of this month," Naima told Daily Sun in an interview this week.

She reassured fans that she has no plans to join the label anytime soon but would be interested in working with artists from Mabala.

Speaking to TshisaLive on Wednesday, Mabala Noise said that the label admired Naima Kay but that the rumours were not true.

"Naima Kay is not joining the label. Sometimes our artists socialise or even work with talent from other labels. We encourage them to do so and to share their creativity," publicist Tumi Moatse said.
