Stephanie Ndlovu says she planned to snap back to her body and old self quickly after giving birth. However, reality has her singing a different tune.

The new mommy wrote a lengthy Instagram post in which she listed the things she was determined not to let go of, but said the joke was on her because things didn't pan out the way she expected.

“For one, I am actually heavier than I was while being pregnant. Don’t ask me how, stress, hormones, comfort eating, whatever. I turned down an amazing role at eight weeks post-partum because I was just not mentally or emotionally ready to work. Some days we win with routines and other days I let her sleep in my arms for hours because that’s what she wants to do.

“Baby blues, I never cried as much as I did in the first four weeks of being a new mother. I cried every day, everywhere. I am so not the same person, how can I be? I have never known this kind of love that consumes my entire being, that this little soul is all I think about 24/7, that she holds my whole heart in her tiny hands and I often just stare at her and become completely overwhelmed by how much I love her. That love changes you 100%.”

She recently shared a snap of herself on Instagram, revealing she had given birth.

“Mama. Getting back into the swing of things is wholeheartedly the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but I am trying to exercise patience & kindness with myself, being present in every moment on this new journey,” she wrote.

The baby's birth was confirmed on YouTube channel The Ndlovu’s Uncut last month.
