Lamiez Holworthy is on that self-love trip and embracing her body.
She hopes her take on beauty and body image will inspire young girls to love themselves just the way they are.
The multi-talented DJ took to her Facebook timeline to share that she has never been moved by societal standards of what a woman should look like.
“So I had a 20-year-old lady text and say: 'I am 20 years old and thick AF with zero confidence — how do you do it?' And my response was: 'I’m 30 with big legs, big thighs, cellulite, stretch marks, scars and hyperpigmentation with a lot of confidence and here’s why. I don’t subscribe to society’s ideologies on what 'perfect' is. I am a real woman with real imperfections and still I think I am perfect just the way I am. I’ll be damned if I let social media and society mess with my head and my heart'.”
Lamiez posted a while ago to call people out on their vile behaviour on social media.
“Someday, when we have time, we must discuss how and why it is so easy to find joy in the failures and pain of others. How we really are [our] own enemies and instead of building, we choose to destroy. We must then discuss how brazen most are behind their keyboards and how easy it is to not only [to] think but type these evil thoughts.”
