While being in the limelight might come with a lot of opportunities, Ama Qamata says she wants to only take an interest in those aligned with her brand.
In a sit-down with Mpoomy Ledwaba on the Wisdom and Wellness podcast, the Blood and Water star spoke of the many gigs she turned down because they did not resonate with her.
“If I don't want it, I don't want it. I get a lot of social media, influencer things, but that's not me,” she said.
The star, who was introduced to acting when she was five years old, said acting is her passion and she wants to be known as such and dabble as a producer.
Ama revealed she recently shot a new film, Fight Like A Girl, as an actress and producer in Congo and wanted to be more creatively involved in telling stories.
“I really want to be intentional. I really want to be positioned in a way where we say that this is Africa's girl.”
“When things are aligned ... there are challenges, but the challenges are there to grow and teach you something.”

When leaving Mzansi Magic's Gomora in August, the actress said she doesn't take for granted the impact the role had on her career.
“Can’t even find the right words to type out right now. I’ll keep it simple, thank you Gomora. It’s been an absolute pleasure and privilege to be on the show. It was an opportunity of a lifetime and I’m so blessed to have shared it with you guys.
“Thank you to the cast, crew and producers who are like family to me. Thank you South Africa for embracing Buhle in your homes and in public, lol. I don’t take for granted what this show has done for my growth and career. I’m forever humbled and grateful.”
