Taking to their social media platforms Mzansi celebs were outraged by the incident and shared their thoughts.

“This got my blood boiling. This fu**r right here still thinks South Africa is still his racist ancestors’ playground. Our government has failed big time for not taking drastic steps in dealing with such moers**ts. Racists fu**ers should be punished big time. And if you're racist and reading this go dive into the nearest crocodile-infested river,” wrote Somizi Mhlongo.

Media personality Anele Mdoda took to her Twitter timeline tagging the presidency and the SA Police Service to share her thoughts.

“These are old men attacking little boys. This is Alakhe [her son] being attacked here guys. Don’t tell me otherwise. What would you like us to do as mothers,” she tweeted.

Music producer and DJ Prince Kaybee said he couldn't get the video out of his mind.

“Still kinda hung up on that pool video. If white people succeed in instilling fear in young black children, it’s gonna be a repetition of the same thing with generations to come. Teach your children to stand against racist whites so that the future has strong black men that don’t take sh*t.”

TimesLIVE reported that the initial case opened by the family of two boys aged 13 and 18 against three men was for assault and crimen injuria.

Police spokesperson Brig Motantsi Makhele said the docket was handed to the senior state prosecutor, who issued a directive that a charge of attempted murder be added to the investigation “given the additional facts” that had been obtained.

“The docket was received back from the senior state prosecutor with clear directives. The investigator is working on the directives and we anticipate the perpetrator or perpetrators will be brought before a court of law to account for this incident.”
