Almost a month after Mampintsha was laid to rest, his widow and gqom musician Babes Wodumo shared a Bible verse he recited to her when they met.

The mother of one shared a snap on Mampintsha’s Facebook account, where she has been posting updates after the passing of her husband.

Mampintsha died on December 24 after complications from a stroke.

After the funeral Babes had to face the reality that her husband was no longer around.

“The sad thing is the bed is empty and she needs to take up more responsibilities. Babes is strong. What I like about her is that she didn't change her character,” Babes' sister Nondumiso Simelane told TshisaLIVE.

She said a grieving Babes catches herself calling out for her sweetheart.

“She misses him a lot. She would call for him then realises he is gone.”

The musician has been under scrutiny for her behaviour in the days after the death of her husband when she was accused of not taking time off to "mourn".

Nondumiso told TshisaLIVE Babes was fulfilling an agreement she had with Mampintsha.

She said Mampintsha was adamant he did not want Babes to follow traditional customs if he died.

“This is based on an agreement she had with her husband. They were watching 1 Magic's Lingashoni series and he said, 'Baby, when I die I don't want to see candles and you crying, sitting on the mattress or wearing inzilo [mourner's clothing]. Don't mourn for me. Honour me by living the life I know you for',” she said.
