For ordinary people, meeting your favourite musician or someone you look up to can sound far-fetched, but celebrities can expect to cross paths if they are in the same industry.

DJ Sbu got the shock of his life when he learnt singer Simmy and Grammy award-winning producer and DJ Black Coffee were meeting for the first time in his presence, so much so he documented the moment.

In the video, Black Coffee mentions he is a big fan of the singer and captures the moment on his phone,

“I just met her for the first time. I've been hearing her music, I'm a big fan. I went to see her perform in Durban on December 25 ... there's a friend of mine in Germany who is a big fan,” Black Coffee said.

Producer and DJ Sun El-Musician, who was also present, said he was humbled to have witnessed it.

LOL! Ey bhuda! This was a humbling experience, Siyabonga,” he wrote in the comments.

Never one to hog headlines for anything but her music, Simmy has previously shared her thoughts on fame.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE in 2019, the singer said despite the fame and success of her music, to her family at home, her fame is not a big deal.

“Having a sister who was in the music industry kinda normalises things at home. My family is aware I'm doing music and they hear me on the radio, but I think they are surprised when people scream when they see me and they always ask 'what's happening now?'. So that's the way things are for me at home.”

The singer added home was where she found peace and she keeps the two worlds separate.
