Mihlali Ndamase has spoken candidly about dating a man who is going through divorce.

While many have speculated about how the YouTuber got into a relationship with businessman Leeroy Sidambe, who was married to Mary Jane, Mihlali said the reality of her relationship was her partner was undergoing divorce when they started dating and he’s still in the process of it.

“He is not divorced legally but it's a long process. We've seen people file for divorce but still continue with their lives and they do get into relationships. That's the situation my partner and I are in, that's the reality of things,” she said during an interview with L-Tido

“I've watched and let people say whatever they want, because I am not going to be clarifying a situation. I am dating him. Everything else I feel I do not have a right to speak on. Don't make me the face of something that has nothing to do with me.”

While speculations surrounding Mihlali's relationship has resulted in cyberbullying, Leeroy shared a statement on the matter.

He revealed he had parted ways with Mary Jane in March 2022 and, while separated, found love with Mihlali as they were free to “move on in whatever manner” they saw fit “as single individuals”.

While the couple have been leading a private life, Leeroy said he couldn't turn a blind eye to his girlfriend being labelled a home wrecker.

“I met a women I fell in love with. It has been heartbreaking to see her name dragged daily on social media for loving me loudly and boldly. The constant harassment she receives, instigated by my estranged wife's associates, is unbearable and frankly not safe for anyone's mental wellbeing.

“Mihlali Ndamase, like us all, is human and has a right to follow her heart on who she loves. She is a self-sufficient woman who has astutely run her business and does not deserve this hateful intrusion on her life and work.”

Recently, Mihlali revealed they met on a video call when a woman from her hometown, who was friends with Leeroy, connected them while she was out of town for work.

And since their first date in Cape Town, they have been smitten .

“I was charmed from the beginning, from the moment I spoke to this man. We were on the phone for six weeks until he couldn't wait any longer,” she said.

“I caught feelings. Love him like it's day one, from the moment we met we both just knew. Our first kiss was on the first day we met. He claims he did not know who I am.”
