The Nedbank International Polo happened at the weekend and the order of the day was opulence, fashion and people filled with purpose.

Aiming to bring together good vibes and good people the polo created a perfect atmosphere for everyone to have a good time, look good, enjoy the polo and be reminded, as per the theme, that nobility is about more than title and status.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE at the well-attended event, the bank's executive head for retail and business banking marketing, Busi Ndlovu, said the Nedbank brand set out to redefine what nobility looks like in 2023.

“We are very excited about the polo again this year, third time running. In terms of turnout, have you seen the people? Everyone is looking absolutely amazing, so we are really happy.”

The likes of Rami Chuene, Claire Mawisa, Holly Ray, and TT Mbah were spotted there as well influencers such as Kay Yarms. DJ Milkshake was on the ones and twos, making sure everyone was having a good time.

This year, Nedbank is celebrating people who are doing exceptional work to uplift communities in the arts, the environment, sport, and child wellbeing. The banking group is redefining who it looks up to as a society and crowning the new nobles — those who view themselves as noble — no longer by rank or title but as a virtue, thus redefining their role in society.

“So normally when we talk about nobility, it's associated with status, rank and title ... Almost this unattainable kind of premium. But from a Nedbank perspective, when we speak nobility, we want people to rearticulate what that means. We are saying it's OK to have that rank, title and status but we want you to use your influence for good. We want you to use that position of power to influence positive change in your community, society and ultimately in the country,” Busi said.
