TV personality Lawrence Maleka has made it clear he's single after rumours he’s a married man run wild.

In an interview with The King's Cast, hosted by Sphectacula and DJ Naves, he opened up about his upbringing, career and love life.

Addressing the rumour, Lawrence said he rubs his ring finger and that's probably why people assume he is off the market.

“It started with my cousin. Zenokuhle Maseko played Mbali in The River and with [that] we got really close. She's a good person and we hung out, and then we found out that we are family. That's where it developed. We would spend a lot of time together off-screen. She's a social media person and every time we hung out she would post. So everyone assumed me and Zeno are a couple. She's like my baby sister.”

Lawrence added he is recently single.

“I came out of a relationship. Let me put it this way, I should be married. I'm that guy, I'm a family-orientated guy.

The seasoned presenter and actor walked away with two DStv MVC awards in 2022 — for Favourite TV Presenter and Ultimate Viewers' Choice.

“I think I've been working hard for a while now, so for me what these rewards and accolades come to is again testament that there's power in keeping your silence and keeping your head down and focusing on the product, and I've always been a firm believer in that. I've always been about the work and I've never been one to announce. I think half, if not most, of everything I've done has always just announced itself. I think once you start paying attention to the work it will resonate and it will make the noise, and that's what I want people to know me for, just the work and the attention to detail of the work,” he told TshisaLIVE at the time.
