DJ Sbu has criticised those who have been trolling media personality Dineo Ranaka after she opened up about her mental health struggles on Instagram this week.

In a clip circulating on Twitter, the DJ and music producer asked tweeps what was wrong with them.

In a video shared on social media, he addressed mental health and mentioned names of celebs who took their lives after battling with depression.

“What has happened to us? I’m not holier than thou, I’m not better than anybody, I’ve got lots of my own mistakes as well, but since the Dineo situation happened, reminded me of Riky’s situation, which reminded of HHP situation, which reminded me of other people who are not famous who committed suicide. Dineo wrote something and said, “I now understand what you guys are going through”.

“Mental health is a serious thing. Imagine if it were to be your turn when you’re going through mental health issues and people are just rubbishing you, people are bullying you, people are pulling out all sorts of content that you might have done ... what has happened to us?”

Kope Makgae recorded a song for Dineo to let her know she's not alone.

“There's so much distraction, especially on social media. It is ironic how people are posting challenges whereas they are going through their own challenges, so for me it's like all the dancing and music is a distraction of tapping into your own challenges and, moreover, everybody is going through something but no-one is discussing it. And having a person like Dineo Ranaka, she is sort of like an alchemist, she's an outspoken self-proclaimed leader of health and wellness, but if she's not well, who is supporting her?” he told TshisaLIVE.
