American TikTok star and artist Nilla Allin has turned the South African word “v**tsek” into a song.

Nilla said she recorded the song titled V**tsek after one of her followers on social media made the request. A video she posted on TikTok recently gave a glimpse of the song and had more than 267,000 views.

She said using South African words in her latest song was a way to thank her music lovers in the country.

Nilla added v**tsek was her favourite of all the words she learnt on a trip to Cape Town.

“South Africa showed me much love so I had to return the favour and reciprocate the energy on this next project. I met many genuine people and had so much love. Thank you to everyone who showed me so much love. I will forever hold you in my heart,” she said.

The song was released on Friday and is available on Spotify.

Nilla recently went viral on social media as she shared her experiences of load-shedding.

Reflecting on the trip, Nilla said she enjoyed herself and got the name Thandeka.

“We went to Table Mountain and it [is] amazing and gorgeous. It was a beautiful experience.”
