We've long conceded Dr Musa Mthombeni is the leader of the pack when it comes to the husband Olympics.

He recently shared on his Instagram timeline that he and his wifey Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni are celebrating another milestone in their union, their engagement anniversary.

Not many will be familiar with this concept but Musa always finds ways to celebrate and love his wife loudly and for all to see.

“Today an angel was born. Not really but we got engaged on this day two years ago. Let me take you through the pictures,” he wrote.

Musa also shared step-by-step moments leading up to him finally popping the question.

“Liesl had no idea we’re getting engaged. She thought I was taking her on a picnic using a helicopter, like I’m a Succession character or something. Before the ring came out, Liesl was doing her favourite thing. I was so nervous I couldn’t even eat. She kept forcing me to eat something coz I was making her feel guilty. It was time for the big show! Just like they do it in American romcoms. One knee on the ground in the “Sgang” singing “I’m dangerously in love with you,” he added.

Reflecting on their one-year anniversary, Musa said his decision to wed was a good choice.

“Marrying Liesl is one of the best things to ever happen to me. Words fail me,” he wrote.

“You’ve made me want more out of life while in the same breath I’m 100% content with what I have. Thank you Mrs Mthombeni. You have my heart. I love and like you so much.”

Since tying the knot Musa and Liesl have gained hundreds of fans who have watched the pair celebrate their love.
