Babes Wodumo is alive and well after she was reported to be critically ill a few days ago.

Taking to her Instagram timeline, she shared a video of her freestyling to a song her followers seemed to have enjoyed.

In her mentions, she was asked to drop the fire track in the clip.

“This song is sooooooo good! Please drop it! Wow! Wena wodumo! It's one of the deepest songs I've heard from you,” wrote actor Thabo Rametsi.

“The world is asking so much from you, it’s OK not to be OK, it’s OK to loose. Please keep holding on sis, sending love,” commented another.

Babes also took to her Instagram stories and hinted at working on new music.

Though there were several reports that the Gqom musician was critically ill and in hospital, a source told TshisaLIVE Babes was not sick but taking time off from gigs.

TshisaLIVE reached out to Babes but she declined to comment, saying she does not speak to media.

Babes has been picking up the pieces since she lost her husband Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, who died on December 24 after a stroke.

In a recent Facebook live video, Babes revealed season three of their reality show Uthando Lodumo was meant to showcase their white wedding, but now shows Mampintsha's funeral instead.

“We were separated by death,” she said.

“God took away what I loved most.”
