Congratulations are in order for Thabo Ndlovu, who sang his way to the Idols SA season 19 win on Sunday. As the farewell season came to a conclusion, the singer was elated to be crowned the winner. Princess MacDonald was the season’s runner-up.

Thabo's victory earned him life-changing prizes. The crown of the final South African Idol brings with it:

  • R1m cash from Mzansi Magic;
  • a new Toyota Vitz;
  • a technology bundle from Huawei worth R65,000;
  • musical equipment from Yamaha worth R100,000;
  • a wardrobe to the value of R100,000 from Truworths; and
  • a recording deal from Feel Good Music to kickstart his music career.

Princess will receive all her live show outfits plus a fashion voucher to the value of R50,000 from Truworths.

"I still can't believe that we are where we are today — and it's all thanks to each and every one of you. Your love and support have carried me when days were not so bright and when I felt like it was too much, you guys have stuck with me through it all and I am humbled," Thabo, 26, wrote on his social media timeline.

"To Idols SA and Mzansi Magic, thank you so much for the platform and allowing me to be part of this final chapter and although this is the end of one book, I believe it is the start of something greater.

"To everyone who's been part of this journey with me in production, I appreciate you all so much. Thank you for being the amazing souls you are. May God bless each one of you. Team Thabo and my amazing family, I appreciate the love you've shown me, the prayers, calls and unmatched support — thank you so much. To my hometown, Witbank, guys, IBUYILE, we have made history and I love you all."
