Tumi "Gogo Skhotheni" Motsoeneng underwent an inking session recently to have a tattoo done of her son Monde Jnr.
The podcaster and DJ took to her social media timeline to debut the tattoo on her arm in honour of her son, who has been in an intensive care unit for a year and eight months.
"I did this tattoo to feel more connected and to show him love because it’s difficult to express my feelings towards him while he's on a hospital bed the whole day. One thing about my son, he smiles right through. His smile heals you. I go there to comfort him but he ends up comforting me," she told TshisaLIVE.
"His doctor, Dr Flack, is the best She comes a long way with my son and she did her best."
Gogo Skhotheni has been visiting her son in hospital nearly every day when she is not working to support him, and while he was not able to make it home for Christmas last year, she hopes to bring him home this time year.
"It has been a difficult journey for all of us as a family but life has to carry on. He was born without a tube that transports food to the stomach so he had major surgeries. Doctors tried to make sure he could eat, but they couldn’t so they ended up putting in a tube and he is using a machine to eat."
