Minnie Dlamini is set to make her debut in the world of comedy roasts with Laugh Africa Comedy Festival and Showmax.

The media personality will be in the hot seat at the Sandton Convention Centre on April 5 as comedians take a dig at her illustrious career and personal anecdotes.

Minnie has been in the entertainment business for 14 years, with her professional and personal life making headlines.

She alluded to using the opportunity to set the record straight.

“I ended the year with my show Curated on Mzansi Magic, embracing humour about myself and societal happenings. The roast is about having fun and not taking myself too seriously,” she said.

“I may also get an opportunity to dispel many of the rumours told about me. The roast is fundamentally a celebration of my career and there’s nothing I love more than a good laugh.”

The roast will feature a star-studded line-up, including internationally acclaimed comedian Eddie Griffin, Eugene Khoza, Conrad Koch and Chester Missing, Jam Jam The Comedian and Mel Jones.

A total of 50 other comedians across three genres — English, Vernacular, and Afrikaans — will be part of the show.
