Event organiser Richie-R Concepts together with Junior Lavie are set to host the Youth Hip-Hop Festival in Durban next month.
The festival, which was last hosted in 2022, will take place at Munies Hockey Club in Greyville, Durban, on June 8.
Billed to perform are Sjava, OkMalumkoolkat, Blxckie, KO, Zakwe, Dlala Thukzin, Kweyama Brothers and others.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, event organiser Hlubi Radebe from Richie-R Concepts said they have reinvented the event and decided to include the amapiano sound.
"In this festival hip-hop is the main leader. We've also given room for other genres to be included. We've added music creators so it can be accepted by a wider crew of music fans," he said.
Hip-hop star Zakwe said he's looking forward to the festival and will perform his upcoming singles.
"I'm going to perform some of my upcoming singles and spice up things up in the hip-hop genre. I feel this year is going to be interesting to be a rapper in South Africa," he said.
In 2015 the Youth Hip-Hop Festival welcomed US rapper Rick Ross to the stage.
Junior Lavie said they were looking to add an international star to this year's festival but due to time and logistics it wasn't meant to be.
"I promise next year we're definitely looking to bring a global star to our shores," he said.
Tickets are on sale at Webtickets for R200.
