Agriculture Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson's excuse for using taxpayers' money for private travel arrangements is unacceptable ("Thuli: hotel bills excessive", November 27).
There are millions of single parents who are in a far worse financial situation than her.
Most people can only dream about her salary and benefits.
She has set a very bad example in a country where the abuse of public money is hopelessly out of control.
Joemat-Pettersson was caught out. Thousands of other public servants, from the top to the bottom, escape exposure and enjoy [wasting] taxpayers' money.
In light of [the finding] , Joemat-Pettersson should stand down - but we know the ANC protects its cadres.
