A 15cm mummified body that UFO enthusiasts believed to be an alien - has turned out to be a mutated human being according to a report.

The Daily Mail reports that the Stanford scientists examined the Chilean body's DNA in the documentary Sirius and discovered that it was a human, and had survived for about six to eight years after it was born.

'It is human - closer to human than chimpanzees. It lived to the age of six to eight,’ said Garry Nolan, director of stem cell biology at Stanford University's School of Medicine in California.

According to a Chilean newspaper, Oscar Munoz found the remains on Oct. 19, 2003 when he was looking for objects of historical value in La Noria, a ghost town in the Atacama Desert.
