A 31-year-old woman appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Monday for allegedly killing her husband, said Limpopo police.

The matter was postponed to February 28 for a bail application, said Constable Moses Molepo.

Borchas Maake reportedly shot James Maake, 45, during an argument on Saturday around 2pm in Thoka village, near Polokwane, after accusing him of cheating.

She allegedly shot him three times with an unlicensed firearm.

He was taken to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, said Molepo.

Maake was arrested on Saturday shortly after the shooting.
