Two injured in Pretoria DIY bomb mishap

Two men were under police guard in Kalafong Hospital on Saturday after they were injured in an accident involving homemade explosives, Gauteng police said.

On Friday morning the men, aged 54 and 44, took the devices to an open area of veld to set them off, Warrant Officer Wanda Olivier said.

"When they handled one inside the motor vehicle it went off, and another went off outside a couple of metres from the car."

The men were being treated for flesh wounds but would face charges related to manufacturing explosives.
