Man shoots Johannesburg hawker dead

A man shot dead a hawker and wounded another in the Johannesburg CBD on Friday, metro police said.

The shooting happened on the corner of Troye and Kerk streets around 3pm, said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.

A man was shot dead and a woman was wounded in the leg. She was taken to hospital, where her condition was serious, he said.

The gunman would appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court.
