Eskom didn’t mess around on Friday morning.
Missing from its social media feed was the almost standard “there is a low probability of load shedding this morning and high probability in the evening” outlook Twitter users are used to. @Eskom_SA on Friday tweeted bluntly: “The load shedding prognosis today is high”.
This came as temperatures dropped around the country and rain fell in many parts.
That excuse wouldn’t sit well with
while @MblueSA took issue with the lack of detail: “@Eskom_SA Good Morning.Where? When? How long? #EskomFail”.
@tdollar15 took a stab at possible excuses the utility could use for likely outages on Friday:
Twitter user @Jayzee2d‚ a regular critic of Eskom‚ greeted the power company’s departure from its usual update outlook thus: “@Eskom_SA I see the ‘prognosis’ man is back on duty. The ‘possibility’ man is (on) leave”.
