'Big Brother' bites the dust

There will not be a 10th season of Big Brother Africa, pay-TV operator MultiChoice Africa has confirmed. Rumours of the show's cancellation gained traction after the manager of MultiChoice Ghana, Anne Sackey, told a newspaper the show would be postponed. She believed this was due to a lack of sponsorship.The production of Big Brother Africa has been beset with problems from the start, when the original house burnt down. A contestant was later expelled for misconduct and, more recently, new visa red tape has prevented contestants from Sierra Leone and Rwanda entering South Africa in time to take part.MultiChoice Africa confirmed the show "is currently on hold".Regional versions of the show, such as Big Brother Angola and Big Brother Mzansi, will continue while producers Endemol Shine Africa and Africa Magic re-evaluate the direction of the show.Season 10 would have marked the 10th anniversary of the show. ..
