Informal and formal settlement dwellers are at each others' throats in Mamelodi East.

Last night informal dwellers petrol-bombed several houses belonging to their neighbours following a tiff over electricity.

Eskom disconnected illegal connections at the informal settlement so the residents retaliated by tampering with a transformer at Mahube Valley‚ so that everyone in the area would be without electricity.

The situation is described as tense this morning with some roads blocked.
