A 33-year-old man has died after his vehicle plunged down an embankment and into a house in Durban.

RescueCare paramedic Garrith Jamieson‚ who was on the scene in Escombe‚ south of Durban‚ said that the driver of the vehicle died and his wife was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

"It's believed that the driver had a medical condition that caused the accident. This is still to be investigated by the SAPS‚" said Jamieson.

This is the third accident in the last week where vehicles have crashed into houses in KwaZulu-Natal's biggest city. On June 23‚ a women had to be freed from her vehicle by paramedics using the jaws of life after her vehicle rolled down an embankment‚ and a day earlier‚ three people died and 16 were injured when a taxi overturned and rolled down an embankment and came to rest against the side of a house in Inanda.
