BLF president Andile Mngxitama says it is ‘rubbish’ that he approached a Gupta associate for funding

Black First Land First (BLF) president Andile Mngxitama has responded to reports that he approached Gupta family associate Nazeem Howa for funding last year‚ saying they were “rubbish”.

“You are writing rubbish!” he said on Wednesday afternoon‚ after TimesLIVE reported he had not responded to multiple phone calls and an SMS asking for comment.

He accused reporters of lying and when offered copies of phone records‚ Mngxitama again said the report was rubbish.

“I don’t give a f**k man‚” he said‚ demanding evidence he spoke with Gupta family associates.

TimesLIVE earlier reported that leaked emails show former Oakbay CEO Howa forwarded an email from Mngxitama to Rajesh Gupta – saying the BLF leader had asked for funding during a meeting the day before.

“It is a fake email you created. You have created a fake email. You will have to show where you got the email‚” he said.

“You have created the email to defend white monopoly capital.”

Asked to confirm his email address and if he allowed others access to it he said: “No‚ that’s my email address. The point is this you have created a fake email. My email address is public‚ you created it and put it there. You are trying to divert attention from white corruption. My email is public you put it there‚” Mngxitama said.
