Salamanca player Miguel Garcia remained in intensive care in a local hospital on Tuesday but the club says his vital signs are "absolutely normal." Garcia will remain in hospital for several more days.

Garcia collapsed during Sunday's game with Real Betis before medical staff revived him by using a defibrillator.

The incident follows the deaths of Sevilla's Antonio Puerta and Espanyol's Daniel Jarque due to heart-related problems in recent years.

Real Madrid's Ruben de la Red also suffered a similar episode during a game two years ago and never returned to play.
