1962 — Marjorie Dunt of Bloemfontein, the only woman in the SA team, wins the nation’s first shooting world championship medal, taking silver in the now-defunct women’s 50m free rifle prone competition in Cairo.
1994 — Hansie Cronje scores an unbeaten 98, but the Proteas end on 201/8 to lose to Australia by six runs in a triangular ODI in Lahore.
2003 — The Proteas bounce back from 0-2 down to clinch a 3-2 series victory over Pakistan, triumphing by seven wickets in the deciding ODI in Rawalpindi. Shaun Pollock took three wickets as they bowled out the hosts for 192. Opener Boeta Dippenaar top-scored with 74 to lead the charge home in the 46th over.
2016 — Rilee Rossouw scores 122 from 118 balls at Newlands as the Proteas beat Australia by 31 runs to complete a 5-0 ODI series whitewash. David Warner, with 173 off 136 balls, kept the visitors in the hunt of the 328-run target for most of the match.
2018 — JP Duminy scores an unbeaten 33 as the Proteas chase down the 133-run target to beat Zimbabwe by six wickets in Potchefstroom to win the T20 series 2-0. The third match scheduled for two days later was abandoned.
2019 — Keshav Maharaj top-scores with 72 as the Proteas are thumped by India by an innings and 137 runs in the second Test in Pune. The win gave the home side an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. India scored 601/5 and then bowled out the visitors twice, for 275 and 189. Captain Faf du Plessis’s 64 was SA’s only other half-century of the match.
