KAIZER Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung has targeted three foreign coaches to replace Muhsin Ertugral for next season.

KAIZER Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung has targeted three foreign coaches to replace Muhsin Ertugral for next season.

Turkish-born Ertugral took Amakhosi to third place in the Premier League, behind runners-up Orlando Pirates and champions Supersport United, but decided to leave before the last match of the season.

"We are talking to three coaches, a Brazilian, a Serbian and an Englishman," said Motaung. "We have not made a final decision."

When asked why he was not looking at a local coach, he said: "Football is a game of opinions off the pitch, and my opinion is that there are only two South African-born coaches who could handle either Chiefs or Pirates, and neither of those two coaches are available. Therefore, we are forced to look overseas ..."

Motaung said that he did not want to make drastic changes to the squad for the next Premier Soccer League season, which kicks off in August and ends in February, to enable Bafana Bafana coach Joel Santana time to work with his locally based players ahead of the 2010 World Cup finals next June.

"We will sit down with the new coach when he is appointed ... We need to progress and move forward." - Sapa
