In an attempt to honour one of the country's former wrestlers, the Reservoir Hills Sports and Recreation Club (RHSRC) will host a fun run.

The race will be held in honour of the late Manoj Maharaj - a Durban wrestler and avid road runner.

Named the Manoj Maharaj Run for a Loved One 5km Fun Run/Walk, the event will take place on Saturday December 1 at the Siripat Road Sports Grounds in Reservoir Hills.

"The club and the family of the late Manoj Maharaj thought it would be a fantastic idea to honour this legend by launching this event.

"We encourage all those who have lost a loved one to take part in this race in memory of that special person," said RHSRC chairman Chris Naidoo.

Naidoo added that the club wanted to create a "carnival affair".

"T-shirts and a light meal will be provided. Stalls and entertainment will add to the atmosphere."
