PLUMBING THE DEPTHS OF SARCASM
After landing in hot water over tweets suggesting that the legacy of colonialism was not all bad, Western Cape premier Helen Zille has seized on the Cape Town drought crisis to return to the theme.
She could not resist when a Twitter user, amid all the fuss about Day Zero, noted that it would be business as usual for many black people who had been collecting water from communal taps all their lives.
The premier's less-than-sympathetic response: "It must be a relief that you weren't burdened by the legacy of a colonial water piping system."
What don't you get about oppression, Gogo? Saying colonialism had its good points is like saying Auschwitz taught people how to exercise portion control...
