Kevin Anderson nowhere near end

South Africa's Anderson has forged a stellar career while playing against some of the all-time greats of the game

Kevin Anderson should be in the autumn of his professional career, but having risen to a career-best eighth on the world rankings, he is having a golden summer.
At the time of writing, Anderson, 31, won his way through to the Acapulco Open final in Mexico , where he met Juan Martin del Potro in his first tournament since winning an ATP 250 title in New York last month.
Earlier this year, he also made the Pune Open final in India, hot on the heels of reaching the US Open final last September, where he lost to Rafa Nadal at Flushing Meadows.
Age is just a number and Anderson sees his career flourishing after 11 years on tour.
"I definitely feel good physically," Anderson told the Sunday Times from Mexico.
"There has been a change in the trend over the past few years from players winding down after 30 to guys playing some of their best tennis later in their careers.
"Obviously Roger Federer (36 and world No1) is an example in that aspect but it has come down to a shift in perception. When you see guys doing well later in their careers, you start believing you can do it to.
"I also started the pro circuit a little later than most because I went to college first, and though I'm turning 32 in May, it in no way feels like I am near the end of my career. My best tennis is still ahead of me."..
