"New York is one of my favourite cities. I like the mystery, and the depth of the characters, who show that justice can be served.

"There must be a consequence when a crime is committed," says Ameera Cassoojee, an engineering student at Wits.

"Mac Taylor is my favourite because he is passionate about his work."

The US police drama sees Taylor and a team of detectives solving crimes.
