Black Coffee has shed light on why he decided to buy the house next door to his house.
In a recent sit-down on Steven Bartlett’s podcast The Diary of a CEO, the DJ explained he wanted to keep his Black Coffee brand separate from his personal life as Nathi.
In the interview Black Coffee said while in the process of attempting to finalise his divorce from Enhle Mlotshwa, he moved out of the home they built together and into an apartment. He later found a house and asked his mother who has a heart issue to move in with him.
However as time passed, Black Coffee said he didn't feel he could still stay with his mother as he no longer felt comfortable doing as he pleased when having people over at the house.
The Grammy award winner added he wanted to build a “Black Coffee house” as a legacy project for his children, where he could keep all his memorabilia.
“The neighbour's house, that's where my mom and children are going to stay. That's a Nathi house. That's where you're going to find me on the floor, on the grass playing with my children, then next door, that's the Black Coffee house.
“I want to build a Black Coffee house that will be like a future Black Coffee house — where he used to live ... I'm very much intentional about the things I collect, the art on the wall. everything that I do is to create value in the house.”

While Black coffee has made it clear that his divorce is not final, his estranged wife Enhle has been quoted on several occasions saying she doesn't want to discuss the private matter.
“It has been a very, very, very rough year, but I still stand tall and proud. It is indeed a situation that no-one wants to see themselves in, but here we are,” she wrote on Instagram.
