After not being able to properly pronounce "the South African version of her name", US singer Kehlani has decided to embrace it.

The platinum-selling Grammy award-nominated singer and dancer headlined the Rocking The Daisies festival this past weekend and caught up with Slikour on Slikour On Life

Among the things they spoke about is her name which South Africans have long changed to sound more South African.

"Long before I got booked to come here there are always South Africans in my comments: 'Sis, do you know how to pronounce your name?' I'm fully welcoming people to call me that when you see me at the club tonight," she said.

In Slikour's mentions his followers were impressed with the US star's music.

Renowned artists, local and international, graced the stages of the three-day festival in Cape Town and Johannesburg, including Blxckie, Nasty C, A-Reece, IAMDDB, BAS, Saba and Buddy.

Kehlani headed to her socials and shared how much fun she had.

“Just headlined a festival in Cape Town, South Africa at midnight. Got not even five minutes of sleep because of jet leg. It's 6am and I'm going to fly to another part of South Africa to headline tonight,” Kehlani posted.
