The mental health activist was recently chosen to represent the Global Surgery Foundation as a goodwill ambassador, shining a light on the mental health impact on minorities and marginalised groups such as women and children.
“I am incredibly honoured to be part of an esteemed panel, which will be highlighting the impact of Covid-19 on women’s and girls’ mental health, while also looking at the most promising strategies and actions for overcoming gender inequality and discrimination.
“The panel will further discuss how the empowerment of women and girls accelerates Sustainable Development Goal 5 and recovery from Covid-19.”
“I am so happy to have worked on this with the Permanent Mission of South Africa to the United Nations and the Netherlands to shine a light on the mental health impact on minorities and marginalised groups; women and children,” she wrote.
