While many choose to celebrate Halloween dressed in fictional and scary costumes, some use it as an opportunity to pay homage to iconic figures.

In the US, Halloween (dating back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain) marks the end of summer and harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time that was associated with death.

Some have questioned why people in Mzansi insist on celebrating, but many go ahead and slay the day.

This Halloween in the US and in SA women channelled Queen B with Beyoncé-inspired costumes.

Take a look at some local stars who nailed Beyoncé’s looks:

Uncle Waffles

Uncle Waffles always delivers a stellar performance during her DJ sets, whether behind the decks or on stage.

For Halloween, the DJ showed how bootylicious she is when doing her version of Beyoncé's Check On It.

“Check on it. Had to pay tribute to a living legend. Happy Halloween,” the DJ captioned her post.

Candice Modiselle

Media personality Candice recaptured Beyoncé's Renaissance album art.

Too good not to share on this app. A Renaissance Halloween Thread. 10, 10, 10 across the board,” she captioned the images.

Roseanna Hall

Social media influencer Roseanna shot her version of scenes from Beyoncé's  Upgrade U.
