WATCH | Thuso Mbedu shines on Trevor Noah’s ‘Daily Show’
Thuso Mbedu was lauded by Trevor Noah during an interview on The Daily Show.
The actress was a guest on Trevor Noah's late-night show while on a press tour to promote new Hollywood blockbuster The Woman King.
In the sit-down, expressed his pride in seeing Thuso's journey.
“You’re absolutely crushing it in everything you do,” he said.
Thuso said she is determined to use her acting to change society and to be intentional with the characters she takes on instead of caring more about the money.
“I want to create the stories that are innately in us, because growing up in this industry you believe you can be anything until you get into the industry and they tell you, no, you can’t.”
Speaking of her deal with Paramount Plus, Thuso said it would focus on health, climate and equity as part of their social impact initiative.
“So those are stories that will transform people’s thinking, because from my understanding and what I’ve experienced back home, they’re very keen on commissioning projects that will encourage destructive behaviour but aren’t necessarily teaching people how to transform and empower their lives.”

Thuso has come a long way in her career and is flying the SA flag high in the states.
In an Instagram post, Thuso expressed gratitude and her excitement for the future.
“There aren’t any words. To be seated among some of the greatest talents of this generation makes me excited to see what tomorrow has in store for everyone,” Thuso wrote.
