Five days after his hospital stay began, Mark Pilgrim is in high spirits and hopeful that one day he's going to beat cancer.

The radio jock underwent surgery for a collapsed lung recently.

Mark has inspired many since he started documenting and sharing his cancer treatment journey on Instagram. One of the things he posts about constantly is his love for his partner Adrienne, who keeps him going in his fight against stage four lung cancer.

"Hospital day four, with my Adrienne by my side. One day, as we sip cocktails on the beach, with our toes in the sand and the girls laughing in the background, we’ll look back at these past months and say that this was one hell of a journey … and we got through it," he wrote.

The broadcaster has been inundated with well wishes from his followers.

"You are amazing. Honestly, it takes a lot to be positive when you’re not well. I would know having a lung disease, however, I have never been through what you’re going through so I take my hat off to you and wish you all the very best on your journey. Positive vibes are essential and I admire your strength and resilience. I hope you improve every day," one follower told him.

He shared a snap on Instagram of himself about to undergo a procedure last week.

“Surgery later this afternoon to sort out collapsed lung and my 'ICU home' for the next week or so. To the staff and nurses at Milpark Hospital: you are my angels,” he posted.
